DescriptionAmerican Express Travel Related Services Company, Inc. seeks Directors, Data Science to build, implement, and enhance predictive models that enable better credit risk decisions. Drive the next generation of innovations in credit risk models and interact with cross-functional teams to solve business problems. Accelerate work streams to enhance models and incorporate best in class machine learning in risk models. Develop and lead predictive models for credit risk assessment and interact with business partners to integrate models with business decisions. Plan and deliver high-performing models, meeting deadlines, and ensuring accurate and efficient implementation of models in production systems. Learn industry developments and best practices, conducting research and development to incorporate best in class modelling methodologies and share with the team.Position requires a Master's degree in Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer... Science, or a related field, and 2 years of experience developing and implementing credit risk models using large datasets in a Financial Services company. Experience must include a minimum of: 1 year of experience with machine learning algorithm development and big data platform and its applications; 1 year of experience with statistical and data mining techniques, including regression analysis and Machine Learning tools for pattern recognition and predictive analytics; 1 year of experience with thinking strategically and applying both quantitative methods and business insights to drive results; 1 year of experience with relationship management and collaborating and partnering with key business partners; 1 year of experience with articulating complex theories, concepts, methodologies, and findings; and 1 year of experience with Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Spark, SAS, R, Python, and SQL.
