Director, Real World Evidence Biostatistician
Job Overview:This role within Fortrea Consulting is an experienced consultant and researcher focused on building client trust through excellence in project delivery across a broad spectrum of consulting areas (e.g., clinical development, real‑world evidence [RWE], health economics and outcomes research [HEOR]) to help clients plan, generate, and demonstrate value across their product’s lifecycle.This role’s main responsibilities include oversight of biostatistical activities in client engagements, including research, planning, analysis, synthesis, and communication. The Director RWE Biostatistician also actively supports internal process improvement initiatives and business development opportunities including proposal development, budgeting of biostatistical activities, and participating in bid defenses and capabilities presentations.Summary of Responsibilities:Business DevelopmentSupporting the pursuit of new and repeat business Strengthening key client relationships Leading the scoping and budgeting of relevant activities on Consulting and Fortrea-wide opportunitiesPractice & Company InitiativesLeading internal innovation initiatives to respond to the market’s and client’s needsSignificant contribution to industry-leading white papers or publications in area of expertiseClient Delivery Addressing client’s needs with appropriate methods in the RWE spaceManaging project teams responsible for the relevant activities in the scope of work; advising and redirecting, as neededDelivering strategic, methodological, and conceptual expertise in client engagementsAdvising on relevant scientific or technical matters Communicating project findings to clients in an effective mannerPeopleDeveloping and mentoring Consulting staff (eg, role modeling, developing training materials, identifying appropriate training opportunities, setting objectives, leveraging work)Managing Consulting staff performance and delivering timely and consistent feedbackLeading cross-functional teams as needed for given projectsSetting and maintaining a standard of personal behavior and business ethics in line with Fortrea culture Cultivating a positive environment and building positive connections with colleagues within Consulting and across FortreaParticipating in hiring Consulting staffAnd all other duties as needed or assignedQualifications (Minimum Required):Graduate-level degree in discipline-relevant area (e.g., economics/statistics/data science, epidemiology, health economics, pharmacy, medical); Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience and successful project outcomes in lieu of educational requirementsDemonstrated scientific and technical expertise in biostatisticsDemonstrated success managing people and leading project teamsSuccessfully maintained client relationshipsStrong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skillsTeam player mentalityExperience (Minimum Required): At least 8 years of experience in biostatisticsAt least 6 years of experience managing people and leading project teamsPreferred Qualifications Include: Doctoral level degree may be preferred, with scientific or technical knowledge and know-how in line with client expectationsStrong business development, problem solving, and interpersonal skillsAble to challenge conventional thinking to solve client issues and develop solutionsOrientated towards working across related disciplines and teams to achieve client objectivesApplied biostatistics to RWE and/or HEOR disciplinesSolid understanding of CDISC standardsSAS programming experiencePhysical Demands / Work Environment: Ability to work in an upright and/or stationary position for 6-8 hours per dayRepetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate lab equipmentOccasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neckAbility to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelfLight to moderate lifting and carrying, or moving of objects, including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbsRegular and consistent attendanceVaried hours may be requiredTravel internationally to support the business, as needed (0%-5%)Pay Range: $155,000-$175,000 (The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity)Benefits: All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
