Director of Logistics

The Director of Logistics is responsible for leading end to end logistic strategy, execution and optimization across transportation, warehousing and inventory management. The Director of Logistics owns budget management, network design and operational efficiency while ensuring alignment with customer requirements and business objectives. This role operates at both tactical and strategic levels. The Director of Logistics is responsible for strategy midterm decision making horizons, driving cost effective solutions, best in class service and scalable logistics capabilities. Description Core Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership and Network Optimization Develop and execute logistics strategies including network design, capacity planning and midterm optimization initiatives Identify gaps in end-to-end processes and lead continuous improvement efforts supported by data driven business cases Drive carrier diversification and logistics network resilience Transportation Strategy and Management Oversee transportation operations including scheduling, route optimization and RFQ process Manager carrier relationships, vendor performance and cost structures Lead TMS optimization initiatives to improve efficiency, visibility and service levels Establish and monitor KPIs to ensure performance and cost targets are met Warehouse Operations Management Oversee operational performance including OTIF (On time In full), Physical Inventory and Cycle Count accuracy Work closely with Third Party Logistics partner to drive process optimization and continuous improvement across warehouse operations Establish and monitor KPIs to ensure performance and cost targets are met Inventory Control and Governance Establish and maintain a robust inventory governance framework Ensure high levels of inventory accuracy through audit process and regular cadence reviews Oversee inventory movement, controls and reconciliation processes Customer Requirements and Best in Class Services Manage customer specific shipping, labeling and supply chain requirements Lead quarterly review and audit process to ensure compliance and performance Foster strong cross functional collaboration to proactively support customer needs and provide best in class service outcomes Compliance and Risk Management Ensure Third party logistic providers and carrier partners comply with all warehousing, transportation, and customer requirements including retail and food service standards, Proactively identify and mitigate operational and supply chain risks Financial Management Own and manage logistics budgets across transportation and warehousing Monitor and optimize cost structures while maintaining best in class service levels Qualifications, Experience, and Education: 10-15 years of leadership experience in logistics, supply chain management or related fields Thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to evolving business needs Strong experience in strategic planning, network design and logistics optimization Proven success managing budgets and driving cost optimization initiatives Deep knowledge of transportation management, warehouse operations and inventory control practices Experience with TMS platforms Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills Ability to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft office Experience working with ERP Systems – NetSuite Continuous improvement mindset Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills Working Environment and Physical Requirements: This position operates primarily in a remote environment, requiring reliable internet access, appropriate technology, and an ergonomic workspace to support productivity and wellbeing. Employees are expected to attend on-site work occasionally as noted above. On-site work occurs in a standard office environment with typical lighting, ambient noise, and temperature controls. Physical Demands: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing desk-based tasks. Capability to lift and carry light objects (up to 20 pounds), such as laptops or documents. Willingness to walk between departments or attend in-person meetings during on-site visits. Adaptability to varying environmental conditions, including changes in lighting, noise, and temperature.
