Director of Engineering, API & Integration Platforms

Opportunity Overview:You will lead high-caliber software engineering teams focused on our internal and external API ecosystem in addition to building tooling for integration with our customers. What you’ll do:Recruit and build high-caliber engineering teamsFoster a culture where teams feel stimulated by their work and passionate about their roleLeadership and Management:Lead and manage engineering teams, including recruitment, mentorship, and performance evaluation.Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the engineering department.Develop and implement strategic plans for the engineering department in alignment with the company’s goals.Strategic Planning:Contribute to the company’s overall strategy and business planning.Identify opportunities for technological advancements and innovation.Develop long-term plans for technology development and deployment.Technical Expertise:Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams.Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.Ensure the implementation of best practices and standards in software development and engineering processes.Product Development:Work closely with product management to define product requirements and specifications.Oversee the design, development, and deployment of products and features.Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of products.Compliance and Security:Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.Implement and maintain robust security protocols to protect company data and intellectual property.What you’ll need:8+ years of experience managing software engineering teams in a fast-paced, agile environmentBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experienceProven track record of delivering high-quality software on time and within budgetPrevious experience as a product-oriented team lead with expertise in one or more programming languages and frameworksPrior experience building a team and coaching it to successPrior experience in healthcare preferredPrior experience in B2B enterprise salesPay & Perks: Fully remote opportunity with about x% travel Medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, and Employee Assistance Program 401K retirement plan with company match; flexible spending and health savings account ️ Up to 184 hours (23 days) of PTO per year + company holidays Up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave Pet insurance The salary range for this position is $200,000 to $225,000 annually; as part of a total benefits package which includes health insurance, 401k and bonus. In accordance with state applicable laws, Cohere is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
