Position Overview

The Director of Decentralized Clinical Trials will serve as a key leader within the DCT solutions offering and projects team, working closely with the Head of Decentralized Clinical Trials to develop arenaflex DCT services. This role is responsible for the successful development and execution of clinical trials, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, in compliance, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities


Lead the successful development and execution of clinical trials, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, in full compliance, and meeting exceptional quality standards
Supervise cross-functional study teams throughout all phases of study development, operationalization, and delivery
Support the Head of Decentralized Clinical Trials in strategic planning, resourcing, and operations of decentralized and hybrid trials
Oversee the selection and management of decentralized trial vendors, including development of business requirements and management of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes
Lead cross-functional teams in developing comprehensive study reports and plans, including protocols, Informed Consent Forms (ICF), Statistical Analysis Plans (SAP), Data Management Plans (DMP), and Safety planning development
Recruit, train, manage, and coach DCT team members to ensure high performance and professional growth
Collaborate with Product and Technology leadership to ensure critical client features are launched on time and meet client needs
Provide oversight for the conduct of remote clinical trial visits, site initiations, and study closouts with client representatives
Participate in business development efforts, including proposal and budget development and bid defense processes
Assist in developing and maintaining appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), plans, and policies related to DCTs
Contribute to the technical team's efforts to expand capabilities to support client needs


Essential Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree in a relevant scientific, healthcare, or business field
Proven experience developing and driving DCT projects, including budget and scope development, preferably within a Contract Research Organization (CRO) setting
Comprehensive knowledge of and experience managing DCT vendors
Deep understanding of the drug and device development process, including decentralized and hybrid trials
Strong working knowledge of ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP), US Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), and HIPAA regulations
Proficient with technology systems and ability to apply new systems to daily tasks effectively
Understanding of scalability importance and enthusiasm for learning and adapting to technology changes over time
Demonstrated leadership skills with proven ability to lead both internal and external teams
Capacity to work independently and make appropriate strategic decisions to operationalize and advance clinical trial projects
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
Strong prioritization skills to manage tasks and resources, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing requirements
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation abilities
Minimum 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace
Minimum 2 years of direct leadership, indirect management, or cross-functional team leadership experience
Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for business purposes, both within state and out of state


Preferred Qualifications


Advanced degree in a relevant field (Master's, PhD, or equivalent)
Experience in patient recruitment and retention strategies for decentralized trials
Knowledge of wearable devices and digital health technologies used in clinical trials
Experience with electronic data capture (EDC) systems and telemedicine platforms
Background in therapeutic areas such as oncology, cardiology, or rare diseases
Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification
