Director, Cost of Goods Sold
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We're seeking a strategic leader to oversee Rightway's client financial operations and risk management functions. This role is critical in driving financial performance, managing an extensive portfolio of client financial guarantees, and scaling our technical capabilities through the Financial Risk Engine (FiRE). You'll lead two high-impact teams while partnering with executive leadership to shape client financial strategy across the organization.
WHAT YOUâLL DO:
Own Rightway's client risk strategy by overseeing the annual risk management portfolio that quantifies performance across all client financial guarantees
Lead and mentor two specialized teamsâClient COGS and Pricing Operationsâbuilding a culture of operational excellence, technical innovation, and strategic thinking
Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to drive financial performance, optimize client financial management, and influence strategic organizational decisions
Oversee client financial guarantee management including quarterly settlement payments, financial reporting, and client financial strategy development
Spearhead the development and implementation of the Financial Risk Engine (FiRE), a transformative technical platform designed to scale risk management at the client level and identify strategic opportunities
Oversee strategic financial scenario modeling and planning initiatives, including MAC management and pricing change strategy, working with analysts to assess their influence on broader client guarantee performance and organizational risk tolerance
Drive operational efficiency and automation by overseeing database maintenance, governance, and technical solutions that enhance scalability and reduce manual processes
Ensure compliance and accuracy across ad hoc and regulatory reporting requirements while maintaining data quality and transparency in all financial operations
Set strategic priorities and KPIs for both teams, aligning day-to-day operations with broader organizational goals and ensuring seamless execution of financial and technical initiatives
WHO YOU ARE:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Pharmacy, or related field; Master's degree preferred
8+ years of experience in financial operations, risk management, pricing, or related analytical functions
3+ years of people management experience, preferably leading technical and analytical teams
Deep understanding of financial guarantees, risk assessment methodologies, and settlement processes
Strategic thinker with proven ability to develop and execute complex financial strategies, manage large-scale risk portfolios, and translate financial concepts into actionable insights
Exceptional communicator and collaborator who can present to and influence executives, build high-performing teams, and work effectively across departments
Results-driven operator with a track record of driving operational excellence, championing automation, and delivering on complex, cross-functional initiatives
EXTRA CREDIT:
Healthcare industry experience, particularly with value-based care or financial risk arrangements
Experience with SQL, Python, or other analytical programming languages
Experience building or implementing financial risk management platforms or similar technical solutions
Background in healthcare pricing, insurance products, or actuarial analysis
BASE SALARY: $150,000-180,000
Offer amounts for both remote and in office roles are influenced by geographic location.
