2 weeks ago Be among the first 25 applicants Location: Sheffield Shift: Monday to Friday Salary: Competitive + Benefits We have an opportunity for a Development Technologist to join our Development team in Sheffield Our Fletchers bakery has over 125 years of baking tradition, with our Kara bakery supplying delicious wholesale bakery products for over 35 years starting with the first floured bap. Both have been part of the Finsbury Food Group since 2014. Fletchers Bakery can trace its roots back to 1895 and both bakeries portfolio of products have risen (get it?) to include gourmet brioche, traditional sliced bread, bloomer breads and vegan and gluten free options, to name a but a few. The Development Technologist will work as part of the development team to develop and innovate new products and processes. Ensuring our bakery products are produced and delivered effectively to the satisfaction of our customers. They will work as part of our development team to deliver to both internal and external customers to a high standard. This is a fast paced role, where the successful candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills. They will have worked in a similar development position, where they would have gained experience in developing new products and recording all required information to generate accurate costings. With great attention to detail, they will have to present facts and ideas clearly and accurately to customers in a supporting role. This role is based in Hamilton, however a willingness to travel is required as the Development Technologist may occasionally visit our other sites. This is a great opportunity for someone to gain experience with one of the UKs largest bakery businesses. Theyll work closely with a friendly and engaging team from both a site and group perspective, offering opportunities for growth and long-term career development. This is what youll actually do! As the Development technologist you will have a creative mindset and use recipe management systems to generate all key recipe information and costings in line with the commercial targets. As well as support the co-ordination of all relevant input/output information to review with the relevant teams. Youll also act as a key contact between the cake design team and the factory, assisting with the oganisation and running or factory trials and first production runs. You will support the development team in all aspects of delivering the development cycle. Is abreast of comparative products from all retailers and captures and communicates relevant changes and newness. Has a good understanding of relevant product development criteria. Ideally this is you! Degree preferred Food science / technology or similar degree / HND equivalent or relevant experience Knowledge and interest of Food Excellent communication skills Computer literate computer skills and knowledge of word and excel systems Driving license Basic or above Food hygiene What\'s in it for you?
