Development Contractors (Full Stack, Front-End, Back-End)
We’re looking for developers (Full Stack, Front-End, Back-End) with a strong sense of teamwork and a desire to write code to join our first-choice contractor partner pool. Think of it more like being a VIP member of our extended team, rather than taking on a full-time position.
How this works:
• If you qualify for our contractor pool, we’ll reach out whenever we need an extra pair of hands. When a project fits your schedule, you’ll have complete flexibility to say yes and provide an estimate for the work, and no pressure when it’s not the right match.
• We intentionally limit the size of our contractor pool to only a small handful of reliable, capable developers. We’d rather build long-term relationships with a few good coders who can function as an extension of our team, than have a race-to-the-bottom free for all whenever we get a new project.
• This is a great way to work on interesting challenges and collaborate with a passionate team, while still keeping the flexibility and autonomy you get as a freelancer.
• Heads up: We have a strong preference for working directly with individuals or small teams, rather than contracting out to whitelabel engineering companies.
Who we’re looking for:
In addition to being able to support our standard tech stack, we’re also looking for people who can help expand our capabilities. We’ve included a list below of some of the core abilities that we most frequently find useful, though it’s not necessarily all-encompassing. If you feel like we have enough meaningful overlap, we encourage you to reach out.
• Advanced WordPress development skills, including traditional WordPress implementations, Full Site Editing (FSE) setups, headless configurations, and Gutenberg.
• Strong ability with Javascript, and experience working with various JS technologies and modern front-end frameworks, like React, Vue, Node, Next, etc.
• Experience working with APIs to build integrations, and, in particular, hands-on experience implementing SSO in web applications.
• Search technologies, like Algolia, Typsense, or similar platforms.
• Strong ability with Git, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, and an aptitude for documentation.
• Great communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and explain technical concepts in accessible terms.
We’re also interested in people with experience working with:
• AI technologies in regards to search and building RAGs.
• Headless/modern CMSes, like Craft, Strapi, and other similar platforms.
