Amazon Content and App Partner Engagement (CAPE), the team behind the experience for Fire TVs, Alexa Developers, and the Amazon Appstore is looking for a Developer Evangelist. The Developer Evangelist will join an experienced organization responsible for engaging with the Alexa, Apps, and Games developer community. In this role, you’ll combine your passion and enthusiasm for technology with your unmatched creativity to generate attention and support for Amazon devices among developers, key industry opinion makers and technologists. Ideally, you’re someone who comes from a mobile software, web, and/or games developer background and has desire to educate the developer community on the adoption of Amazon-centric technologies like Living-room experiences and Media Streaming Apps development on Amazon Fire TV, Alexa, Games, and related services. You have immediate credibility with App and Games Developers, Solution Architects, Product Managers and C-level stakeholders. You love to share your passion with others and exhibit good judgment in selecting strategic opportunities to do so. Key job responsibilities Be the advocate and voice of developers internally at Amazon, representing their needs within the company. Developing and delivering compelling presentations, product demos, sample solutions, and discussions to help drive awareness and adoption of Amazon device-centric technologies. Gaining industry recognition and credibility as attendee, panelist and keynote speaker at Amazon and 3P technology conferences, hackathons, workshops and events. Continuing to identify leads for potential partnerships, open source, and community engagement opportunities. Collaborating with internal teams to define the product road map, dogfooding upcoming launches, user groups, and developer program initiatives. Creating and maintaining samples, guides, talks, videos about Amazon Apps, Games, and Alexa services along with emerging technologies and industry developments. A day in the life You'll work alongside a broad array of colleagues including frontend developers, backend engineers, product managers, solution architects, and marketing teams. As a Developer Evangelist, you’ll build relationships with app and game builders around the world while building in public. Each week you'll have new opportunities to create samples, write dev articles, and try new APIs and SDKs. About the team The Developer Evangelism team is focused on enabling developers at scale through 1:many education. We focus on educating developers by crafting technical content such as articles, tutorials, code samples and case studies. We contribute and participate in developer meetups, workshops, conferences, podcasts, livestreams, hackathons, and office hours. Our team is made up of PR, Media, and Speaker trained developers that focus on building and delivering technical content directly to developers. We work closely with the Digital Marketing and Product teams to define the Go-To-Market strategies for upcoming Amazon devices and services.
• Significant experience working in a technology evangelist or technical leadership role
• Experience developing and publishing apps and/or games on App Stores
• Experience working on Media Streaming Apps, Connected TVs, and Amazon Echo devices.
• Working knowledge and experience with social / online marketing coupled with prior experience in product definition, bring-to-market strategies and/ or setting an industry standard.
• A history of successful speaking engagements, industry influence and / or recognition in technology publications
• Experience contributing and fostering Open Source projects and related developer communities
