Desktop Support Technician

The Desktop Support Technician provides onsite and remote employee technical support, maintaining desktops, printers, and mobile devices, while responding to network user needs and troubleshooting issues.ResponsibilitiesMaintains desktops, printers, and mobile devices for engineers, administrative staff, and the leadership teamResponds to the needs of various questions of network users concerning hardware, access to resources, and the operation of various software programsEstablishes and maintains network users, user environment, directories, and securityManages operating systems and data backups for the local officeTroubleshoots entry-level network problems, escalating to the Network Engineer and Network Manager as neededMaintains and operates office audio including visual equipment necessary for critical business communicationsCoordinates software and hardware upgrades under the direction of the Network Manager and Network EngineerCommunicates with office partners to develop office technology needs to be escalated to the Network Manager and the Director of Information TechnologyTrains users on new and modified equipmentResponds to occasional off-hours or weekend network emergenciesTravels to other M/E Engineering offices to attend meetings and to cover time off for team members occasionallyWorks with other regional IT team members and managers to collaborate on successful deployment of enterprise-wide initiativesSkillsAssociate's degree and/or bachelor's degree in information technology, or related discipline a plus (Telecommunications, MIS, CS, CE, Software Engineering, Math or related)Computer Information Technology entry level certification(s) such as CompTIA A+ or Network + preferredInterpersonal communication skillsAbility to provide clear instructions to othersOrganizational and project management skillsAbility and willingness to live the M/E Engineering values of Stewardship, Approachability, Design Excellence, Professionalism, and IntegrityCompany OverviewSalas O'Brien is a national leading Facilities Planning, Commissioning, Construction Management and Mechanical, Electrical.
