This role is located at Beale AFB, CA.As the Network Communication Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will maintain smooth operation of Information System Hardware and Software.Responsibilities include:Plan, evaluate, and coordinate installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of several integrated and specialized information systems.Maintain technical expertise in all areas of information systems hardware/software, radio frequency and SATCOM communications systems, and interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.Prepares documentation or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including maintenance documentation and instructions.Provides regular monitoring and analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.Ensures secure movement of information across a multi-classification level computing environment.May coordinate third-party maintenance for equipment.Supports integration and provides engineering feedback on effectiveness of system upgrades and modifications.May design systems or portions of systems that include selection of hardware and software packages.Basic Qualifications:Must have a High School diploma or equivalent and at least 9 years of relevant military / professional Network Communications / Administration experience; or an Associates Degree and at least 7 years of relevant military / professional Network Communications / Administration experience; or a Bachelors degree and at least 5 years of relevant military / professional Network Communications / Administration experience; or Masters degree and at least 3 years of relevant Network Communications / Administration experience; or a PhD with at least some relevant academic / military / professional Network Communications/ Administration experience.Must have or be able to obtain a Security Plus (Sec+) Certification within 6 months of hire.Must be able to complete initial qualification training within 365 days from program access and show continuous progress throughout the training program.Must be willing/able to travel up to 25% of the time.Must be willing/able to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days- a-week, and 365 days a year.Must have the ability to meet medical requirements for worldwide travel.Must have and maintain a valid U.S. passport.Must accept customer furnished quarters for a period up to 90 days away from primary work location and comply with mobility requirements to include required immunizations and vaccinations.Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with:Requirements CaptureTest and ImplementationIntegrated Maintenance Data SystemUnix/Solaris Operating Systems and PrinciplesWindows Server and Desktop versions.Wide Area (WAN) and Local Area (LAN) networkingGroup policy design, testing and implementationRadio Frequency Transmission SystemsSatellite Communications SystemsOracle RACVirtualizationFlight experience and familiarity with commercial mission planning software.Quality Assurance or performing quality reviews of technical publications or training documents.Salary Range: $95,800.00 - $143,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
