ad1 Title: Data Scientist/ Research Scientist (RNA-Seq analysis)Locations: - Remote and be able to work in EST/CST time zones preferred to interact with UK part of the dayLength of Contract: 3 months+ extensionHours: 40 hours per weekIdeal Start Date: 9/29Drug/Background check Both RequiredScope:Oxford client is looking for a skilled Bioinformatician, specializing in the development and optimization of bioinformatics tools and pipelines. Will be collaborating closely with laboratory scientists to analyze genomic data and support drug discovery initiatives.In this role you will:Develop and optimize bioinformatics pipelines for processing RNA-Seq and other NGS data.Perform bulk RNA-Seq analyses, including cohort analyses using tools like DESeq2.Conduct single-cell RNA-Seq analyses utilizing R and the Seurat package.Collaborate with lab scientists to create protocols and data exploration tools.Create interactive data visualization tools using Plotly Dash or Shiny Apps.Write and maintain standard operating procedures and contribute to quality control reports.Train and mentor junior staff on bioinformatics tools and workflows.Must haves:Proficient in R, Python, and Linux, with experience in version control and bioinformatics software.Strong background in RNA-Seq analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization.Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.Desirable Skills:Experience with Docker, Snakemake, and Nextflow for workflow management.Knowledge of machine learning methods and their application in bioinformatics.Familiarity with HPC cloud environmentsEmployers have access to artificial intelligence language tools (“AI”) that help generate and enhance job descriptions and AI may have been used to create this description.
