We hope you will love it too.We’re looking for a versatile Data Scientist / Applied ML Engineer to join our R&D team at Influ2.This role bridges hands-on ML experimentation and R&D exploration. You’ll play a key part in discovering and validating new ideas - from defining abstract problems and exploring modeling opportunities to building working prototypes.You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy solving open-ended challenges, working hands-on with data and models, and having the freedom to turn ideas into impactful solutions using the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and LLMs. What you'll do: Understand product opportunities: Gain a deep understanding of product goals and user needs to identify where data-driven solutions can deliver the most valueLead research initiatives end-to-end: define hypotheses, design experiments, analyze results, and propose scalable solutionsIntegrate and evaluate models: Prototype ML-driven solutions tailored to real-world business needs and assess the performance of LLM models for practical integrationWork hands-on with tools: Use open-source ML tools and locally deployed models to test and iterate on ideas quicklyOperate independently: Take initiative and operate autonomously in a fast-paced, experimental environmentCollaborate cross-functionally: Communicate findings and proposed solutions clearly across R&D, Product, and Development teams Skills: You bring 2+ years of experience in applied ML or data science rolesYou have solid Python skills and experience working with libraries like pandas, scikit-learn, and matplotlibYou’re confident designing and running experiments to test hypotheses, validate results, and automate processes at scaleYou have hands-on experience applying ML to real business use casesExperience applying classification, clustering, similarity modeling, topic detection, and LLM-powered approachesGood knowledge of statistics, modeling, and machine learning fundamentalsExperience working with MySQL or other relational databases (SELECT-level queries)English: Upper-Intermediate or higherA proactive mindset, strong analytical thinking, and genuine curiosityComfortable working in ambiguity, with the ability to define scope and direction with minimal input What's in it for you?
