As a Data Science Manager, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing data-driven strategies to drive user engagement, growth, and overall experience.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Mentorship: Maintain a high bar for product thinking and analytical depth within your team through selective hiring and mentorship.
Strategic Decision-Making: Serve as a core member of the Instagram Community leadership team, with direct responsibility for the success and health of this product organization.
Goal-Setting and Prioritization: Set goals and metrics to guide and prioritize growth product initiatives, and lead analysis studies to identify new product opportunities and shape product strategy.
Opportunity Sizing and Measurement: Size opportunities to ensure product teams are working on the most impactful projects, and implement high-priority learning agendas and measurement plans for Instagram and Facebook.
Collaboration and Influence: Collaborate with and significantly contribute to major analytical and product initiatives across the Facebook Family of Apps, and serve on Instagram's Research Leadership Circle to improve cross-Instagram Research group processes.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree: A quantitative field such as Economics, Computer Science, or Physics.
Experience in Data Science: 3+ years of experience in Product Data Science, with in-depth experience in experimentation.
Leadership Experience: 3+ years of experience in building high-performing data science and analytics teams, including managing managers.
Technical Skills: Working knowledge of predictive modeling, machine learning, and experimentation/causal inference techniques.
Business Acumen: Demonstrated judgment in balancing pragmatic business needs and scientific rigor.
Communication Skills: Proven experience forming relationships with and influencing cross-functional leaders, and demonstrated ability to communicate with and influence a wide range of audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Degree: Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Economics, Computer Science, or Physics.
Additional Skills: Experience with large data stores, and a background in a behavioral science discipline.
