Data Governance Specialist II

As a diversified, national organization, Centene’s technology professionals have access to competitive benefits including a fresh perspective on workplace flexibility.Position Purpose: Represents Data Governance in assigned data domains to apply/monitor Data Ownership & Stewardship structure, evaluate and remediate Data Quality issues, curate the data catalog with data domain/system related definitions and knowledge, and learn to lead owners and stewards in implementing key Data Governance initiatives as part of the business initiatives. Execute data governance initiatives across assigned domains. Apply technical skills to support data quality, stewardship, and cataloging efforts.Provides customer support through knowledge of business objectives and timely and accurate completion of work product as directed by manager
Produces data analysis through development of code for data domain related needs
Develops presentations through delivery of results to the internal teams
Curation of data catalog for data domain
Identifies rules to enhance data quality
Apply stewardship structure and maintain data ownership documentation
Perform intermediate data profiling and root-cause analysis
Curate and maintain metadata in the data catalog
Develop and troubleshoot moderately complex SQL queries and dashboards
Collaborate with business and IT to resolve data quality issues
Support adoption of data governance policies and standardsPerforms other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.Education/Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science) and requires 2 – 4 years of related experience.Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.Intermediate SQL, Python, or R, experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), familiarity with data modeling and data lineage concepts preferred.The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical data exchanges at payers or other healthcare orgs. Strong interpersonal skills to be able to speak with leaders across the organization, especially executives. Ability to translate complex technical and data flows into everyday business terms.Pay Range: $62,400.00 – $112,400.00 per yearCentene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual’s skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status.
