Data Governance & Information Architect
We are looking for a talented Data Governance & Information Architect to build foundational data structures and establish business ownership across global data domains.
We are a leading global medical technology and life sciences innovator dedicated to developing advanced healthcare solutions.
Location: 100% Remote on EST / CST (or hybrid onsite in Durham, NC or Memphis, TN)
Terms: Contract-to-Hire
Rate: $60 - $65/hr
Not eligible for visa sponsorship or C2C
Job Duties:
ā¢ Establish business ownership and stewardship across data domains with a focus on business partner data.
ā¢ Lead the creation of business glossaries, master data standards, and formal approval workflows.
ā¢ Implement comprehensive data policies covering access, quality, change management, and retention.
ā¢ Define access governance rules and roles in partnership with security and compliance teams.
ā¢ Structure distinct data types for patient, physician, and healthcare categories into logical models.
ā¢ Map data lifecycles across applications to clarify systems of record and downstream consumption.
ā¢ Define data quality rules and remediation processes while setting business acceptance criteria.
ā¢ Manage program timelines and stakeholder forums to drive accountability and business decisions.
ā¢ Create governance artifacts including RACI matrices, process maps, and communication plans.
ā¢ Align governance frameworks with SAP Business Partner processes to prepare for future MDM implementation.
Ideal Background:
ā¢ 8+ years of experience in data governance, information architecture, or master data management.
ā¢ Proven experience establishing governance frameworks prior to MDM platform implementation.
ā¢ Strong program management skills with the ability to push the business to meet strict timelines.
ā¢ Hands-on experience drafting data policies, definitions, and workflow processes.
ā¢ Familiarity with SAP Business Partner Master Data or SAP MDG planning and rollouts.
ā¢ Experience in medical device, life sciences, or other highly regulated industries (e.g., Financial Services).
ā¢ Knowledge of data governance frameworks such as DAMA/DMBOK and metadata tools.
ā¢ Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear conceptual data models and contracts.
ā¢ Experience working in environments subject to audit readiness, such as SOX or GxP.
ā¢ Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business, or a related field.
