Position Overview
The Data Entry Clerk – Revenue Cycle is the backbone of arenaflex’s financial operations, responsible for accurate and timely entry of patient billing, insurance, and payment information. Working within a collaborative, day‑shift environment, you will support the revenue cycle team to ensure that every claim is processed correctly, every payment is recorded precisely, and every patient interaction is reflected accurately in our electronic systems. This role is essential for maintaining compliance with HIPAA, optimizing cash flow, and delivering the seamless financial experience our patients expect.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately input patient demographics, billing details, and insurance coverage into arenaflex’s electronic practice management system.
Maintain and update records of patient interactions, payments, adjustments, and refunds, ensuring data integrity at every step.
Validate and correct discrepancies in billing and demographic information, conducting routine audits to uphold accuracy.
Assist in the end‑to‑end processing of insurance claims: verify coverage, enter claim data, submit to clearinghouses, and follow up on pending or denied claims.
Collaborate closely with billing, coding, and financial teams to guarantee that all required documentation is attached before claim submission.
Support the collections workflow by entering payment information, monitoring outstanding balances, and assisting in resolution of delinquent accounts.
Conduct regular reviews of data entries for compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and state privacy statutes.
Identify, document, and report any inconsistencies, system errors, or workflow bottlenecks to the Revenue Cycle Supervisor for immediate remediation.
Participate in scheduled audits, quality‑control checks, and process‑improvement initiatives to sustain high standards of data accuracy.
Partner with patient registration, coding, and finance departments to streamline data flow, reduce redundancy, and accelerate revenue cycle throughput.
Respond promptly to internal inquiries regarding billing status, claim details, or patient financial information.
Uphold the highest level of confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive patient data, adhering strictly to security protocols.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

Proficiency in data entry and database management – demonstrated ability to type quickly with error‑free precision.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining flawless records.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills, allowing you to prioritize competing tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for clear documentation and effective interaction with colleagues.
Solid understanding of healthcare billing processes, terminology, and the revenue cycle workflow.

Preferred Education, Experience & Additional Skills

High school diploma or GED equivalent (required); additional post‑secondary coursework in health information management is a plus.
Certification in medical billing, coding, or data entry (e.g., Certified Billing and Coding Specialist, CBES) preferred.
Prior experience in a healthcare data entry or revenue cycle role, especially within a hospital or multi‑specialty clinic setting.
Familiarity with electronic practice management systems such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or similar platforms.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, data security standards, and best practices for patient privacy.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving technologies and process improvements.
