We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to perform the administration, automation, modernization, and cloud transformation activities of our enterprise database environment. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in Oracle technologies, hands on experience with Azure or AWS or GCP cloud migrations, strong proficiency in DevOps tools and scripting languages, and a basic understanding of how AI-driven insights and AIOps can elevate operational efficiency. Functions may include database architecture, engineering, design, optimization, security, and administration; as well as data modeling, big data development, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) development, storage engineering, data warehousing, data provisioning and other similar roles. Responsibilities may include Platform-as-a-Service and Cloud solution with a focus on data stores and associated eco systems. Duties may include management of design services, providing sizing and configuration assistance, ensuring strict data quality, and performing needs assessments. Analyzes current business practices, processes and procedures as well as identifying future business opportunities for leveraging data storage and retrieval system capabilities. Manages relationships with software and hardware vendors to understand the potential architectural impact of different vendor strategies and data acquisition. May design schemas, write SQL or other data markup scripting and helps to support development of Analytics and Applications that build on top of data. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed. Primary Responsibilities:Database Administration & OptimizationPerform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup and recovery, and security hardening of 19c/23ai/26 aiAdminister and support large-scale Oracle environments including RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and MultitenantConduct advanced performance tuning using AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL tuning, and optimizer analysisManage schema design, index optimization, partitioning, and storage architectureHands-on on implementation and management of ZDLRA for database backups/recoveryHigh Availability & Disaster RecoveryArchitect and maintain HA/DR solutions using Oracle RAC, Active Data Guard, Cascaded standby, and Azure-based DR toolsConduct DR drills, failover testing, and maintain compliance with RTO/RPO objectives*Azure Cloud Migration & ModernizationUse tools such as Golden Gate, RMAN, Data Pump, and cloud-native migration frameworksModernize traditional databases to cloud-native architectures including PaaS and Autonomous Database or Exadata in Azure/AWS/GCPOptimize cloud cost, performance, elasticity, and operational reliabilityDevOps, Automation & ScriptingIntegrate database operations with DevOps pipelines using Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Terraform/ARM Templates, and AnsibleAutomate database provisioning, patching, monitoring, and performance diagnostics using Python, Shell/Bash, PowerShell, and PL/SQLImplement IaC (Infrastructure-as-Code) for repeatable, consistent deploymentsAI & AIOps EnablementLeverage AI-driven tools for anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, capacity forecasting, and intelligent alertingUtilize Oracle Autonomous Database capabilities and Azure AI services for proactive performance insightsSecurity, Compliance & GovernanceEnforce RBAC, encryption, auditing, patch compliance, and vulnerability managementCollaborate with Security and Compliance teams during audits and risk assessments*Monitoring, Capacity Planning & OperationsDevelop and maintain monitoring dashboards, capacity plans, and proactive maintenance schedules utilizing tools like OEM/Azure MonitorLead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and operational excellenceCollaboration & LeadershipWork closely with Exadata, Applications, and Security teams to deliver stable, optimized database servicesProvide technical mentorship and documentation to junior DBAs and engineering teamsWorks with less structured, more complex issuesServes as a resource to othersComply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment).
