About the Role: Key Responsibilities Collaborate with various teams to define and implement data acquisition, transformation, and processing pipelines that drive business value Design, develop, and deploy streaming and near-real-time data pipelines that feed our operational systems Implement unit tests and validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity, and resolve issues through rigorous analysis and coding Create clear documentation and drive issue resolution, ensuring seamless data flow and application performance Drive the adoption of data processing and analytics within the Hadoop ecosystem, and cross-train team members to enhance overall capabilities Leverage analytical and problem-solving skills to understand and address complex business questions and challenges Guide cross-functional initiatives involving stakeholders across the organization, vendors, and partners Develop data marts and insights that provide a comprehensive understanding of our business, driving informed decision-making Create innovative solutions that lead to automation and process improvements Mentor and train junior engineers to foster a culture of learning and growth Essential Qualifications: The Foundation for Success Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field 3+ years of IT experience in software development, with a focus on programming languages like Java, Python, and Scala 2+ years of experience working with Big Data technologies such as PySpark, Hadoop, Hive, HBASE, Kafka, and Nifi 2+ years of experience with relational database management systems like MS SQL Server, Prophet, and Teradata Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling complex problems with data and analytics Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a natural curiosity and passion for resolving challenges Legally authorized to work in India without sponsorship Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken) Reliable attendance and punctuality, with a commitment to meeting the demands of the role Preferred Qualifications: Enhancing Your Profile Master's degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field Experience with cloud-based frameworks like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Certified Developer/Engineer on AWS, demonstrating expertise in cloud computing Strong background in continuous integration and delivery using Agile methodologies Experience in the transportation/aviation industry, with a deep understanding of the sector's unique challenges Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive complex projects to successful outcomes In-depth knowledge of Big Data, with a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies What We Offer: A Rewarding Career and More At United Airlines, we're committed to providing a workplace that's not just challenging but also rewarding.
