Security Architecture & Compliance

• Strong foundation in security architecture and compliance frameworks
• Essential for understanding and translating security requirements between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Evaluate security controls, assess risks, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Data Security & Privacy

• Expertise in data security principles and privacy requirements
• Critical for working with data science teams, ensuring proper data handling practices, and implementing appropriate security controls for sensitive data. Must understand concepts like data classification, encryption, access controls, and privacy regulations.

Technical Communication

• Excellence in technical translation and stakeholder communication
• Translating complex security concepts for non-security teams and explaining business/data science requirements to security teams. Must be able to facilitate productive discussions between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Security Tools & Technologies

• Familiarity with common security tools and cloud security services
• Should understand security monitoring, identity management, access control systems, and cloud security services to effectively bridge discussions between security teams and other technical groups.

Risk Assessment

• Experience in security risk assessment and mitigation strategies
• Must be able to evaluate security risks in the context of business objectives and data science requirements, providing balanced recommendations that address both security needs and business goals.

Cross-functional Leadership

• Track record of leading cross-functional security initiatives
• Will need to coordinate between security teams, business units, and technical teams to drive security solutions that work for all stakeholders.

Documentation & Process Development

• Strong documentation and process development skills
• Must create clear security guidelines, procedures, and documentation that can be understood and followed by both technical and non-technical team members.
