We are seeking an experiencedCurriculum Developerto design and develop the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) courseHealthy Active Living Education (PPL2O)in alignment with Ontario Ministry of Education standards.
Key Information About the Position:
This is a contract-based, part-time opportunity ideal for an educator or curriculum specialist with experience in Ontario secondary education and business studies.
Compensation: $2,000–$2,500 CAD (fixed fee for full course development)
Qualifications:
• Experience teaching or developing OSSD Health and Physical Education courses
• Strong knowledge of the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum expectations
• Familiarity with Growing Success and Ontario assessment and evaluation guidelines
• Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification - asset
Responsibilities:
• Design and develop the complete PPL2O course in alignment with Ontario curriculum expectations.
• Create lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments in appropriate formats (e.g., teacher-led content, video scripts, evaluation tools).
• Develop clear grading rubrics and ensure assessment consistency.
• Align all evaluation components with Growing Success and Ontario assessment guidelines.
• Collaborate with the Product Development team and participate in required meetings.
Course Structure:
This course includes66 lessonsin total
Each unit must include:
• 2 Assessments as Learning
• 2 Assessments for Learning
• 2 Assessments of Learning
In total, the course requiresa minimum of 10 Assessment of Learning tasks.
