Cultural Writer (On-Call) - Join Our Team of Environmental Stewards
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cultural Writer to join our team on an on-call basis. As a Cultural Writer, you will play a vital role in performing cultural resources reviews, writing cultural compliance reviews, and assisting our cultural leads in ensuring the preservation of our cultural heritage.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough cultural resources reviews to identify and assess potential impacts on cultural sites and resources
Develop high-quality Cultural Resources Constraints Reports (CRCR) and other technical reports, including Section 106, CEQA, and state/federal reports
Prepare California Department of Parks and Recreation 523 site forms and other documentation as required
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to write project descriptions and coordinate fieldwork needs
Assess and prioritize fieldwork requirements, ensuring timely and effective project delivery
Provide support to cultural leads as needed, maintaining open communication and ensuring seamless project execution
Uphold our company's culture of safety and employee ownership, adhering to all policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, Historic Preservation, or a related field
Minimum 2+ years of experience in Cultural Resource Management, Archaeology, or a related discipline
Strong technical writing skills, with experience in writing Cultural Resource Management compliance reports
Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint, with familiarity with GIS platforms such as Google Earth Pro
Excellent writing, critical thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of Federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing historic preservation and environmental protection
