All new hires are required to undergo drug/alcohol testing within the first week onboard and throughout their contracts. Failure to pass the drug/alcohol testing will result in immediate termination.CategorySports and Recreation Basic QualificationsParticipation in the DCL audition process is required during an interview for this positionMinimum two years recent experience working in a position demonstrating DJ and stage experience, catering to an audience of all agesMinimum of two years' recent experience in an entertainment, resort/recreational, cruise industry, or related fieldProven experience with sound/DJ equipment requiredDemonstrated professional experience in Disc Jockey mixing, beat mixing, as well as knowledge of a wide variety or popular music and dance for families and adultsDemonstrated public speaking skillsStrong microphone skills and showmanshipStrong aptitude to learn dance routines and to dance in a ‘club’ style settingAbility to perform in environments that have pyrotechnics, chemical smoke, haze, fog, dry ice, and other special effectsBe at least 21 years of ageBe able to speak, read and write fluent EnglishWillingness to live and work onboard one of our vessels for a certain length of time (based on position)Be able to work a seven-day, 70-84 hour week with limited time offBe able to adhere to Disney Cruise Line appearance guidelinesAgree to share a cabin with other crew membersEnjoy working in a high-volume, fast-paced, guest-service oriented environmentBe flexible with your work schedule, job duties and work locationsAppreciate diversity among guests and crewBusinessDisney Cruise LineRequired EducationParticipation in the Audition/Interview process required Minimum two years’ experience in an entertainment, cruise industry, resort/recreational, or related fieldMinimum two years’ experience working within a position demonstrating DJ experience, stage experience and public speaking skills Experience with sound/DJ equipment a plus; Knowledge of DJ Power, a plusDemonstrated excellence in Disc Jockey mixing, beat mixing, and knowledge of wide variety of popular music and danceRelates well to audiences of all ages and demographics while offering a passion for engaging an audience in entertaining program and eventStrong microphone skills, team skills, detailed, flexible, and committed to Guest SatisfactionStrong aptitude to learn dance routines and to dance in a ‘club’ style settingMaintain performance quality and the ability to perform rehearsed rolesAbility to perform in environments that have pyrotechnics, chemical smoke, haze, fog, dry ice, and other special effectsPostal Code-- ResponsibilitiesMaintain music and video libraries for designated venuesCreate and maintain daily play lists and club logs with regard to music formats and activitiesMix and /or beat-mix several different styles of popular musicIntroduce bands, specialty acts and/or featured entertainment offeringsRun DJ workshop for teensAssist in maintaining appropriate Guest flow in all areas onboard, meet and greet Guests at various locations around the ship (i.e. Walt Disney Theatre doors) and inform Guests of other onboard activities to ensure adequate Guest participationAssist with Port Adventures operations as needed – meet Guests at assigned debark venue, spiel important excursion information, collect tickets and waivers and escort Guests to meet appropriate vendorEscort Guest on Port Adventures as the Disney quality representative, as scheduledAssist in the facilitation of Crew events as neededFollow scripts, but also ad lib, as necessaryPerform abbreviated shows as necessary based on weather conditions, safety issues, and/or Entertainment Management decisionsSeek out Guest contact while displaying boundless amounts of energy, outgoing attitude, enthusiasm, and self-motivation Alternate Country / RegionShipboardAlternate City-- Alternate Postal Code--
