Safaricom PLC is actively seeking a talented and highly motivated Creative UX Content Writer to join our innovative digital product team. As a Creative UX Content Writer, you will be instrumental in crafting human-centered content that not only enhances user journeys but also significantly improves usability and strengthens our brand presence across all digital touchpoints. You will collaborate closely and dynamically with product managers, UX/UI designers, user researchers, and engineers to define robust content strategies, develop intuitive information architecture, and write compelling microcopy, helpful error messages, engaging onboarding flows, and all other critical interface text. Your meticulous work will directly influence how users interact with our diverse range of products, ensuring unparalleled clarity, consistency, and a truly delightful experience at every turn. We're looking for someone who can not only write beautifully and persuasively but also thinks strategically about how language functions within a user interface to solve problems, anticipate user needs, and drive meaningful engagement. Key Responsibilities • Craft clear, concise, and engaging UX copy for interfaces, notifications, error messages, and onboarding flows. • Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, and engineers to define content requirements and strategy. • Conduct content audits and develop content inventories to ensure consistency and identify opportunities for improvement. • Participate in user research, usability testing, and A/B testing to inform content decisions and iterate based on feedback. • Ensure all content adheres to Safaricom’s brand voice, tone, and style guidelines across various digital products. • Translate complex technical concepts into easily understandable language for a diverse user base. • Develop and maintain content style guides and best practices. • Advocate for the user in all content decisions, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience. Required Skills • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail. • Proven understanding of user experience (UX) principles and design thinking methodologies. • Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely in written form. • Strong portfolio showcasing UX content work for digital products or platforms. • Proficiency in content creation tools and a willingness to learn new technologies. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams. • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in UX writing, content strategy, or a similar role. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field. • Experience with A/B testing and analytics to optimize content performance. • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies. • Proficiency in Swahili, in addition to excellent English communication skills. • Experience working in the telecommunications or fintech industry.
