While the immediate need for this role is multi-state tax preparation and filing, we work with CPAs who have actual experience supporting or collaborating on CFO-level work. CPA Position Overview This Remote CPA position focuses on business and personal tax preparation and filing across multiple states. Because we serve clients nationwide, multi-state experience is essential. This position is: • 100% permanently remote • Contract / 1099 • Tax work begins after all bookkeeping reconciliation is completed internally • No dull meetings, no hybrid office mandate — leave the commute behind This role is not intended for seasonal preparers, freelancers running unrelated practices, or one-off engagements. CPA Responsibilities and Duties • Prepare and file federal, state, and multi-state tax returns • Address multi-state tax considerations, including nexus and compliance • Prepare business and personal returns across multiple entity types and provide sound tax guidance • Review completed bookkeeping financials and prepare and file tax returns • Communicate professionally via email and phone • Collaborate with internal bookkeeping staff • Use your own professional tax preparation software This role is ideal for CPAs seeking a year-round, part-time, 100% remote position. www.fureverbookkeeping.com CPA Required Qualifications and Skills • Active CPA license (issued by any U.S. state) • Proven multi-state tax filing experience • Expert with QuickBooks (all versions) • Minimum 5+ years professional tax preparation experience • Experience working successfully in a remote, collaborative environment • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet hard deadlines • Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously • Clear, professional written and verbal communication Preferred Experience • Demonstrated experience supporting CFO or advisory services, such as cash-flow analysis, forecasting, margin analysis, financial modeling, or participation in financial strategy discussions with business owners (This is not an entry-level advisory role; experience must be practical, not aspirational.)
