Coverage and Legal Writing Attorney Location: Florida (Hybrid/Remote options may be considered) Industry: Insurance Defense Firm Partnered With: Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is seeking a Coverage and Legal Writing Attorney on behalf of a respected insurance defense law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented attorney who thrives on in-depth legal analysis, complex case evaluations, and high-level drafting across a variety of practice areas. The ideal candidate will support the firm’s litigation team by offering strategic legal insight and crafting well-reasoned, high-quality documents for matters involving premises liability, personal injury, workers’ compensation, auto claims, and maritime law. Key Responsibilities: • Draft and analyze insurance coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and denial letters. • Prepare dispositive motions (e.g., motions to dismiss, summary judgment) and supporting memoranda. • Conduct strategic case evaluations, including liability and damages assessments. • Draft, review, and revise settlement agreements, releases, and related legal documents. • Conduct legal research and draft complex legal memoranda, trial, and appellate briefs. • Collaborate with trial attorneys to support litigation strategy. • Stay up to date on relevant legal developments and prepare internal/client updates. Qualifications: • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. • Active and in good standing with The Florida Bar. • 2+ years of legal experience preferred; coverage and/or litigation writing experience is a strong plus. • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills. • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced setting. Preferred Skills: • Familiarity with CGL, auto, maritime, and workers’ compensation insurance policies. • Experience drafting summary judgment motions, coverage letters, and legal memoranda. • Judicial clerkship, law review, or appellate experience is a significant plus.
