Foxenâs products revolutionize flawed and antiquated processes, while simultaneously creating property revenue and financial wellness for residents.Job Overview:As Associate Counsel/Corporate Counsel, youâll provide support to multiple business departments across the full range of Foxenâs business activities. A significant portion of the role will focus on negotiating sales and vendor contracts. There also will be an opportunity to advise the business on a wide variety of legal topics that arise with a high-growth, tech-focused company. This position will report to Foxenâs Senior Director, Associate General Counsel and will also work regularly with Foxenâs Chief Legal Officer. Our ideal candidate is a proactive, business-minded attorney with a positive attitude who is energized by opportunities for accelerated learning and growth.We are open to candidates at either the Associate Counsel or Corporate Counsel level, depending on experience and qualifications. What Youâll Do: Provide legal support for commercial transactions, including the negotiation ofcustomer service contracts, vendor agreements, and other legal documentsConduct research and provide legal advice on a variety of matters, including those in the areas of regulatory compliance, property & casualty insurance, Fair Credit Reporting Act, data privacy and cybersecurity, consumer protection, marketing, product development, disability and housing law, employment, and general corporate mattersProvide legal support on significant business projects to advance companyâs strategic goals while managing legal and compliance risksAssist with the management of corporate compliance, including developing and implementing policies and procedures, conducting employee trainings, and legal entity managementManage pre-litigation or litigation matters under the direction of the Associate General Counsel What You Bring: J.D. from an accredited law school, strong academic credentials, and active license to practice in at least one state, preferably Ohio3 to 6 years of combined experience in an in-house legal department and a law firm; previous in-house experience strongly preferredA strong foundation in commercial transactions and experience in at least one additional area of responsibility identified aboveAbility to work in a dynamic environment, be comfortable navigating ambiguity, and bring a solution-oriented mindset to creatively solve challenging problemsStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent business and legal judgmentStrong verbal and written communication skills Additional Information Where Youâll Work:Nestled in the heart of the Arena District in Downtown Columbus, Ohio, our corporate office offers stunning views of Huntington Park, home of the Columbus Clippers.
