The Center for AI Safety (CAIS) is a leading research and advocacy organization on a mission to reduce societal-scale risks from AI. We tackle the toughest AI issues with a mix of technical and policy solutions, working with our sister organization, the CAIS Action Fund. As part of our mission, we are building a network of skilled contributing writers to support our growing content needs. We are looking for journalists who can help to communicate AI safety research, policy developments, and industry trends to a broad audience. Journalist & News Opportunities: Writing and curating the AI Safety Newsletter, which covers developments in AI safety for a general audienceCovering news and policy developments related to AI and writing explainer articles for a forthcoming new online platform dedicated to high-quality journalism and analysis on AI’s impacts on national security, politics, and the economyYou'll thrive in this role if you:Excel at translating complex AI and policy topics into engaging, accessible narratives for diverse audiences.Are passionate about deep research and uphold rigorous fact-checking standards, even in a fast-paced environment.Appreciate a structured editorial process and welcome constructive feedback, valuing the role of journalism in shaping informed public discourse.
