Contract Writer for a Book on Control

Location: Remote Position Overview: The Daily Grace Co. is seeking a contract writer for a special project: a Christ-centered book that offers biblical encouragement and hope to readers struggling with control. The ideal candidate will have deep theological insight, strong writing skills, and a personal understanding of the ways control can shape a person’s life. Because this project is deeply personal, the writer has likely wrestled with control and is therefore able to write with honesty and empathy. They must be able to address these struggles with relevant storytelling, biblical truth, and sensitivity to their emotional and psychological impacts, pointing readers toward Christ. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (studies in theology, Bible, English, humanities, journalism, or counseling/psychology preferred) • Comprehensive understanding of covenant theology • An understanding of biblical theology and how all of Scripture points to Jesus • Personal experience with struggles related to control, with the ability to write authentically about those challenges • Familiarity with how control issues intersect with mental and emotional health (e.g., anxiety, fear, desire for certainty) • Ability to make deep theological truths accessible to a broad audience • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Familiarity with the writing and editing process • Organized and self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines • Comfortable with collaborative writing and constructive feedback Scope of Work: • Research, outline, and write a full-length manuscript (50,000–75,000 word book) on control from a biblical perspective • Weave together theology, Scripture, encouragement, and practical application with sensitivity to readers’ struggles • Incorporate stories, examples, and applications that resonate with women who battle fear of uncertainty, struggle to let go, or feel the need to manage every detail of life • Collaborate with the editorial team for feedback and revisions • Ensure theological alignment with The Daily Grace Co.’s doctrinal commitments Commitment: Contract, per-project basis Compensation: Determined per project scope Additional Information: Contractors are engaged based on the needs of specific projects and are not guaranteed ongoing or full-time work.
