Content & Social Media Specialist

Destination Madison is seeking a Content & Social Media Specialist to lead the development and execution of their social media and content initiatives. The role involves creating content plans and managing campaigns across various digital platforms to enhance engagement and brand presence.ResponsibilitiesUse Brand Guides, Signature Stories and Advisory Board/External Consultant resources to inform high-level digital and social content plans and executionAdapt high-level content strategies into a full-year plan for content creation that maximizes efficiency and exposure for applicable marketsStay abreast of industry data, content best practices and trends; use insights to develop effective content that aligns with brand standards and grows KPIsCollaborate with brand team and internal clients on concept through completion of campaigns and projectsLead 360-degree development of seasonal or thematic content campaigns to include content marketing plan, verbal direction, image/video capture, collaboration on graphic assets, writing social and marketing tactics, platform integration and internal/external presentations as neededCollaborate with external ad agency, video editor, content creators and external vendors on concepting and execution of paid and organic seasonal marketing campaign assets (e.g. header images, social graphics, paid assets)Maintain expertise in content creation best practices, trends and KPIs in order to partner with PR team in evaluating influencers/creators and maintaining budgetBuild and enhance partner and industry relationships through content development, event attendance and giving presentationsExecute email marketing, including content creation, list development and email layoutsDevelop, test and curate content for social and digital content platforms that help expand reach and engagement, ultimately growing key KPIs in social and digital channelsResearch, evaluate and implement new content management tools as neededSupport implementation of content components for new monetization strategyComplete other duties and projects as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or other related field and 1-3 years of professional experience in a marketing positionExperience managing and measuring social and digital marketing campaignsExperience concepting and executing successful projectsDemonstrated knowledge of marketing best practices and industry trendsExperience using social media channels for brand or business, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTubeEffective communication skills across a variety of settings, audiences, and channels, including the ability to present concepts and work to internal and external audiencesEstablishes rapport and works collaboratively with diverse groups of people to meet shared objectives. Builds professional relationships based on confidence and trustStrong organizational, project management and time management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and respond quickly to unplanned opportunitiesTakes initiative and personal responsibility for delivering quality work, holding self and others accountable to commitments.
