Consultant Legal Operations
Description & Requirements
Maximus is currently hiring for a Consultant - Legal Operations to join our State West Medical Surveys team. This is a remote opportunity. The Consultant will handle report writing, work on deliverables with clinical staff, as well as complete quality review of all deliverables.
This position will require availability for occasional meetings in Pacific Standard Time (PST) as well as occasional travel to the state of California.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and sign legal filings and court documents.
- Attend and represent the client in assigned judicial hearings.
- Communicate and advise private counsel on cases.
- Communicate with project staff regarding legal questions, opinions, and interpretations.
- Act as an advisor on legal issues involving compliance.
- Coordinate with outside counsel for litigation and legal matters.
- Interpret applicable regulations and policies associated with case to determine recommendation.
- Ensure solutions are consistent with organizational objectives.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant professional experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited university highly preferred.
- Experience auditing health plans preferred.
- Familiarity with the California Knox Keene Act preferred.
- Quality experience preferred.
- Availability for occasional meetings in Pacific Standard Time (PST) required.
- Occasional travel to the state of California required.
Please note: For this position Maximus will provide equipment to use.
Home Office Requirements:
- Internet speed of 25mbps or higher required / 50 Mpbs for shared internet connectivity (you can test this by going to www.speedtest.net)
- Minimum 5mpbs upload speed
- Connectivity to the internet via Category 5 or 6 ethernet patch cable to the home router
- Private and secure work area and adequate power source
- Must currently and permanently reside in the Continental US
- Must have a smartphone which will be required to log into Maximus systems
