Companion Care Needed For Myself In Montclair
About the Job
About who needs care: Hi there! My name is Nicole (they/she), I am 31, and I am Autistic and have ADHD. I am seeking an occasional in-home support worker to assist me with executive functioning tasks. These can include:
-Taking out trash/recycling
-Cleaning out car
-Putting away laundry
-Cleaning litterboxes (I have two very friendly cats who would love to meet you!)
-Getting, sorting, and dealing with mail
-Paperwork
-Dealing with doom piles
-Helping me part with items I am holding on to simply because I don't know what to do with them
-completing random tasks I keep putting off or forgetting about like mounting posters on the wall
-Assessing other things I may need to do to maintain my status as a functioning human adult
To be clear, I do not need somebody to actually do these tasks for me (though I would appreciate if you could assist with taking out trash as I have some mobility challenges and live in a second floor walk-up); I just need someone to come and make sure that I am actually doing these tasks, because currently I am..... not, haha. I generally know what needs to be done but having the benefit of someone to hold me accountable may be the push I need to actually focus. This would be a very low stress low effort gig... basically hanging out for an hour or two every week or so (and I like to think that I am a good hang!).
I am a professional musician and my schedule is extremely sporadic, so I would love to connect with someone who has flexibility with their schedule as well, as I am not able to hold a consistent same-day-same-time appointment and will sometimes have entire weeks where I am booked solid. I am, however, looking to commit and keep this as weekly as possible until I leave for an out-of-state gig at the beginning of June.
I love Broadway, cats, Lego, snacks, and crafting!
Please help me force my brain let me be a functional human adult! Thank you for your consideration :)
About the care needs: I can get along with pretty much anyone :). You definitely need to love cats, and bonus points if you are an artist as well (especially an actor/performer), but otherwise I would just be so grateful for the support.
Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
