Provides communications subject matter expertise, leadership, and coordination in the development and execution of all DPOR communications.Advises members of the Director’s office on sensitive internal and external issues. Maintains and fosters positive working relationships with DPOR Boards, the Governor’s communications office, the Secretary of Labor's office, and other DPOR stakeholders. Provides leadership and strategic advice on the agency’s public image, crisis communications, media relations, issues management and monitoring, and stakeholder relations. Oversees the agency’s communications strategy and helps set policies and promote priority initiatives.Continuously works to align communication strategy with agency vision, mission, and goals. May represent DPOR and the Director’s Office at state and nationwide meetings. Minimum Qualifications • Extensive knowledge of PR and marketing methods, trends, and techniques. • Ability to represent DPOR before the media and in meetings with board members, government officials, and the general public. • Ability to promote the organization, make critical decisions, ensure organizational alignment, build relationships, and monitor the agency's economic, political, and demographic context.• Ability to perform under deadlines and manage controversial and sensitive assignments. • Ability to compose speeches, reports, presentations, and press releases.
