Communications Coordinator and Program Director
Senior Connections is seeking a motivated and compassionate professional to serve as our Communications Coordinator and La Grange Program Director. This unique full-time role combines hands-on program leadership with communications, fundraising, and administrative support.ResponsibilitiesAssist in developing and growing a bi-weekly program in La GrangeOversee daily program operations, including meals and activitiesPlan monthly calendars, outings, and special eventsBuild strong relationships with members and create a welcoming environmentRecruit, train, and support volunteersTrack attendance, volunteer hours, and program dataProvide brief reports for leadership and board meetingsMaintain donor records using GiveButterAssist with newsletters, emails, and social media contentEnsure consistent donor recognition across platformsPrepare thank-you letters and donation receiptsSupport campaign tracking and development reportingAssist in planning and executing fundraising events (including NYE fundraiser)Coordinate logistics, vendors, and follow-upSupport capital campaign communications and trackingRepresent Senior Connections at community eventsBuild relationships with partners, donors, and volunteersAssist with general administrative tasks and reportingSupport coordination across programs, volunteers, and leadershipHelp maintain organized and efficient daily operationsSkillsStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple responsibilitiesComfortable building relationships and engaging with the communityProficient in email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and platforms like Canva and GiveButterAbility to lift up to 35 pounds occasionallyAbility to stand, move, and assist during program activitiesAbility to travel locally and attend occasional evening or weekend eventsExperience with social media and digital toolsNonprofit, event planning, or volunteer coordination experienceBackground or interest in artBenefitsCell phone reimbursementPaid time offCompany OverviewSenior Connections, The Capital Area Agency on Aging is a private nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization established in 1973.
