Collateral Appraiser

Description: • Order, track, and manage residential property appraisals through approved AMCs. • Review appraisal reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with USPAP, AIR, and investor requirements. • Apply licensed appraisal expertise to analyze property valuations, market conditions, and comparable sales. • Evaluate collateral for Non-QM loan products, including DSCR, bank statement, and investment property loans. • Identify red flags such as unsupported adjustments, inadequate comparable selection, and marketability concerns. • Document collateral findings clearly and escalate valuation risks to underwriting when appropriate. • Coordinate appraisal revisions, reconsiderations of value (ROVs), and property-related conditions. • Communicate effectively with AMCs, underwriters, brokers, and internal teams to resolve collateral issues. • Ensure appraisal turn times and service-level expectations are met. • Stay current on appraisal regulations, licensing requirements, market trends, and Non-QM investor overlays. • Participate in appraisal-related audits, quality control reviews, and internal calibration efforts. Requirements: • Active state-licensed or state-certified residential appraiser license in good standing (required). • 3+ years of experience in residential real estate appraisal or mortgage collateral review. • Strong knowledge of USPAP, AIR, FNMA/FHLMC guidelines, and Non-QM lending practices. • Experience evaluating investment properties, rural, unique, or complex residential properties. • Familiarity with appraisal platforms and LOS systems (e.g., Encompass, Lending QB, MeridianLink). • Excellent analytical, valuation, and risk assessment skills. • Clear, professional written and verbal communication abilities. • High attention to detail with strong time-management skills. • Ability to manage high-volume workflows in a fast-paced environment. • Collaborative, self-motivated professional with a commitment to quality and compliance. • This is a fully remote position.
