About the position
The Mortgage Closing Specialist I position at CTG involves serving as a key liaison for gathering information necessary for the issuance of Closing Disclosures (CD). This role emphasizes attention to detail and collaboration with various parties to ensure timely and accurate mortgage closings while adhering to compliance guidelines.
Responsibilities
Ā Assign pipeline reporting to title reviewers and manage the title review process.

Ā Communicate effectively with all parties involved in the closing process, including customers, brokers, loan officers, and settlement agents.

Ā Work with internal departments and external organizations to obtain necessary documentation for closings.
,
Ā Conduct thorough reviews of files to ensure compliance with State and Federal guidelines, including verifying employment for income-qualified borrowers.
,
Ā Monitor and review reports and spreadsheets related to loan estimates and change circumstances.
,
Ā Follow up on rate lock and document expirations.
,
Ā Ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation submitted for CD issuance.
,
Ā Proactively liaise with Settlement Agents to gather required information.
,
Ā Monitor close dates and communicate any changes promptly.
,
Ā Adhere to compliance and operational risk controls as per Company and regulatory standards.
,
Ā Support a diverse environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Ā Complete other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Ā Associate's degree with a minimum of 1 year prior business experience, or at least 1 year of combined M&T Closing experience and customer service experience.

Ā Strong PC skills with proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, and email software.

Ā Ability to make informed decisions based on provided information.
,
Ā Detail-oriented with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced mortgage environment.

Ā Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ā Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
