Let's chat and see if we are a good match!Opportunity:VSO is seeking an AWS DBA / Cloud DBA to assist in the operation and support of cloud-hosted data environments. This role focuses on maintaining database reliability, supporting data workflows, and contributing to the performance and availability of AWS-based systems. It’s well suited for someone eager to build hands-on experience in cloud data engineering and database operations. Responsibilities and Qualifications: Assist with backup, restore, and recovery processes to ensure data protection and continuityWrite and maintain automation and administrative scripts using Bash, Python, Perl, or similar toolsSupport and administer relational databases including Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or comparable platformsMonitor system health and database performance, participating in tuning and optimization effortsWork in Linux/UNIX environments to support day-to-day database and data platform operationsHelp develop, maintain, and support ETL workflows and data pipelinesContribute to data modeling efforts and maintain well-structured schemasCollaborate with infrastructure and application teams to support cloud-based deploymentsAssist with database security practices, including access controls and compliance requirementsDocument processes, configurations, and operational procedures to support knowledge sharing and continuityBring a basic understanding of infrastructure and cloud concepts, with AWS experience preferred
Requirements
