POSITION SUMMARY

The Clearance and Closing Coordinator role requires a great deal of independent judgment and discretion to underwrite and clear title issues. In this role it is imperative to work closely with our agents to clear title exceptions prior to the issuance of a title insurance policy. In this role the Clearance & Closing Coordinator is also responsible for documentation review submitted by closing attorneys to determine that it is in proper form and substance; assist the closing desk to determine what documentation will be necessary for a closing package; and prepare transfer documentation based upon information obtained from closing attorneys. This role exercises the authority to prepare and issue title insurance policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.

Review Title Commitments and invoices for accuracy and issue updates/changes.

2.

Research and resolve all clearance related matters.

3.

When a file is scheduled to close, identify open items/outstanding issues, and communicate with appropriate parties to resolve prior to closing.

4.

Proof closing documents for accuracy and review clearance related items for approval.

5.

Support Closing Desk regarding any title matters requiring assistance/resolution prior to closing.

6.

Support production of closing packages and all related forms.

7.

Compliance and adherence at all times with the organization’s Code of Conduct and Ethics as well as all of our company policies.

8.

Other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1.

3-5 years experience working in a New York title agency or underwriter is preferred. Working knowledge of all areas of title production, clearance and closing processes.

2.

Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. Ability to handle sensitive

material concerning the organization and its agents.

3.

Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to meet

designated deadlines is also critical.

4.

High attention to detail, strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced

environment.

5.

Strong customer service skills, positive attitude, and high degree of professionalism.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / OTHER RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

1.

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

2.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).

3.

Experience with TrackerPro or similar Title Software preferred.

4.

Accurate typing, data entry and computer skills a must.
