Job Summary

The Classroom Teaching Assistant will provide essential support to the classroom teacher in all aspects of the school day, including instruction, supervision, and care for students. This role requires a strong and diverse skillset, with a focus on building positive relationships, promoting student engagement, and facilitating academic success. As a Classroom Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic educational environment, collaborating with experienced educators and contributing to the development of our students' skills, knowledge, and character.

Key Responsibilities


Assist the classroom teacher in planning, implementing, and delivering instruction to students, including preparation of materials and resources.
Provide individualized support to students, working one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce learning, address skill gaps, and promote academic achievement.
Help maintain a well-organized and smoothly functioning classroom environment that is culturally responsive and inclusive of all students.
Support students with self-care skills, such as toileting, dressing, and other daily needs, as required.
Supervise students during recess, lunch, snack, and mask breaks, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Assist with implementing positive behavior support plans, developed by teachers and/or other school personnel.
Monitor and guide students in using instructional equipment and technology.
Serve as a resource and support for substitute teachers, providing information and assistance as needed.
Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate high levels of ethical behavior in all interactions with students, staff, and families.


Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:


High school diploma or equivalent required; 60 college credits or associate's degree preferred.
Bachelor's degree in education or related field strongly preferred.
Teaching certificate or eligibility for certification preferred.
Instructional experience in a public school setting preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge and application of effective teacher assistant principles, practices, and trends.
Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with teachers, students, staff, families, and the school community.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work on multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and manage time efficiently.
Experience with online platforms and support for remote/distance learning experiences.
