Title : Civil/Structural EngineerLocation : Remote Type of Hire : Fulltime Salary : $180K+ BenefitsClient Detail : Onward Technologies /GEEssential ResponsibilitiesCivil/Structural engineer with expertise in design, construction, and modularization of Nuclear Island structures and components. The candidate must demonstrate strong working knowledge of static and dynamic analyses, including reinforced concrete design, structural steel design, and composite structure design.Provide system design deliverables which include: system design specifications, performing structural analysis and calculations.Perform design and analysis of Nuclear Power Plant Safety-Related Structures in accordance with the following codes: ASME B&PV Section III Division 2, AISC N690 code, and ACI 349 code.Understand and analyze the effect of thermal stresses in the reactor containment and resolve overstress conditions.Define hydrodynamic input loads for calculation of dynamic response of containment structure and the C/S design of reactor containment.Develop engineering reports and licensing documentation.Interface with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners, the NRC, and international regulatory authorities on technical issues.Bachelor of Science in EngineeringMinimum of 8 years of experience in the energy business (nuclear preferred) or equivalent technical environmentMinimum of 5 years of direct design, development, and deployment experience of power plants for complex, high reliability, and harsh environments or similar facilities in the power, process, or marine industriesMinimum of 3 years of experience in a program or technical leadership roleMinimum of 3 years of experience working with customers, regulators, and suppliersAdditional Desired CharacteristicsProfessional Engineer registration in one or more statesMS or PhD in Civil EngineeringProven ability to think strategically, be creative, and move quicklyHigh-performing individual with demonstrated ability to deliver results while exhibiting behaviors that promote strong team performanceProcess-oriented with ability to facilitate continuous performance improvementOpen communication style and proven ability to develop team relationshipsExperience in the construction of a nuclear power plantStrong problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressureStrong interpersonal skillsWorking knowledge of ACI, ASCE, and AWS codes and standardsExperience with steel plate composite structuresEmployers have access to artificial intelligence language tools (“AI”) that help generate and enhance job descriptions and AI may have been used to create this description.
