Civil Roadway Engineer

As a Civil Roadway Engineer, you will work on multidisciplinary roadway design projects for state agencies and municipalities, focusing on various aspects of roadway design and coordination. Responsibilities Providing technical expertise on projects from the conceptual and preliminary engineering design phase to final design Providing technical expertise on projects beyond final design to through construction phase services Coordinating with architects, bridge, environmental, geotechnical, survey, and traffic professionals, to complete multi-disciplinary project deliverables Assisting project managers in various aspects of roadway design, utility infrastructure design and coordination, development of construction documents, and construction support services Preparing detailed civil design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid packages Working with Project Managers to ensure that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements Skills Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering 0-3 years' experience in the design and preparation of construction contract documents for roadway design projects Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) license, or the ability and motivation to obtain license Experience with developing roadway designs in accordance with Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) or Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) design guidelines and standards AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation - InRoads/OpenRoads, AutoTURN Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Proficiency in: 3D roadway models, horizontal alignments, profiles, corridors, cross sections, grading, sidewalk/curb ramps, ADA design, construction phasing, quantity takeoffs, and estimates preferred Benefits Medical Dental Vision Life insurance 401(k) plan Paid holidays Company Overview Kleinfelder is an employee-owned engineering, science, and architecture consulting firm.
