Charge Database Management Specialist
The Charge Database Management Specialist (CDM) is responsible for maintenance, integrity, and optimization of the charge master and fee schedules within the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) department. This role ensures accurate charge capture, compliant coding structures, and alignment with payer-specific reimbursement methodologies across all departments with Boomerang Healthcare. This position plays a critical role in revenue integrity, denial prevention, and clean claim generation by ensuring that all CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, and pricing logic are correctly configured within the billing system. *This is a remote role. We are only hiring in the following states: AZ, CA, NM, NV, OR, TX and WA.What you will do:Maintain and update the CDM including CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, revenue codes, and pricingEnsure all services related to:Pain management proceduresRehabilitation / functional restoration programsWorkers’ compensation services are accurately built and maintained in the billing systemPerform routine audits of the charge database to ensure accuracy, completeness, and complianceManage effective dates, version control, and historical tracking of fee schedulesBuild and maintain payer-specific fee schedules for:Workers’ compensationMedicareCommercial payer contractsTranslate managed care contract terms into system configuration (rates, carve-outs, case rates, etc.)Partner with Network Management and Finance to ensure reimbursement accuracy and contract alignmentMonitor regulatory updates (e.g., CMS, state WC fee schedules) and implement required changesCollaborate with coding, billing, and clinical teams to ensure accurate charge capture workflows.Validate that all procedures performed are appropriately mapped to billable codesIdentify and resolve charge gaps, underbilling, and over billing risksSupport pre-bill edits and charge scrubbing logic to improve clean claim ratesSystem support and optimizationDevelop and maintain reports related to:Charge lagMissing chargesCharge variance analysisFee schedule accuracyConduct routine audits to ensure compliance with CMS and state WC regulationsAssumes other responsibilities as appropriate to the position and organizational needsQualifications:High School Diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferredCertified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification strongly preferred3-5+ years’ experience in:Charge master / CDM managementRevenue Integrity or billing operationsPain management, orthopedic, or rehabilitation billing preferredAudit ManagementProficiency in billing systems managementStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail and data accuracyDeep understanding of end-to-end revenue cycle workflowsAbility to translate payer contracts into system logicEffective cross-functional communication (clinical, coding, finance, IT)Compensation Range: $30.00 to $40.00 Hourly All compensation ranges are posted based on internal equity, job requirements, experience, and geographical locations.Why You'll Love Working Here: Amazing work/life balanceGenerous Medical, Dental, Vision, and Prescription benefits (PPO & HMO) 401(K) Plan with Employer Matching License & Tuition ReimbursementsPaid Time OffHoliday Pay & Floating HolidayEmployee Perks and Discount ProgramsSupportive environment to help you grow and succeedBoomerang Healthcare (BHC) is a multidisciplinary and comprehensive team of experienced, committed healthcare providers that treat pain.
