Atomic Cartoons is an award-winning animation studio known for its artist-driven culture and high-quality animated content. They are seeking a CG FX Artist to design and animate effects using Houdini, collaborating with various teams to meet project standards and deadlines.ResponsibilitiesDesign and animate effects utilizing Houdini for smoke, clouds, fire, lava, and water that meet the technical and aesthetic standards of the projectTake direction from the FX Supervisor, Leads and FX TDsWork with DFX supervisor, lighting team and CG Supervisor to determine the best possible technical and creative approaches to be able to work smoothly within the pipelineProduce look tests based on the provided conceptsWork within the show structure and production deadlines to complete tasksMeet deadlines as assigned by production managementSkills1+ years of industry experience working in a studio environment, working on an episodic showKnowledge of Houdini Dynamic toolsAn understanding of physical dynamics and natural phenomenaSelf-driven, a good communicator, and a great team playerStrong technical skills within a show structureAbility to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solveExperience rendering with MantraCurrently legally eligible to work in CanadaPrior experience in the CG animation industry is an assetBasic knowledge of Nuke is an assetBasic knowledge of Renderman and/or Katana is an assetBenefitsCompany-sponsored benefits including medicalGRSPVacation payPaid holiday breakPaid leaveA variety of other discounts and perksCompany OverviewAward-winning Atomic Cartoons is an independent full-service animation studio located in Vancouver's busy Animation District.
