Certified Biller and Coder - Optometry & Ophthalmology (Remote)
Job Description:
Are you a detail-oriented, certified biller and coder with a passion for accuracy and efficiency in Optometry and Ophthalmology? Our team is seeking an experienced professional to join our team in a fully remote capacity. If you have at least one year of specialized experience, a proven track record in working claims/denials, pulling reports, and providing training, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Ā Accurately process billing and coding for Optometry and Ophthalmology services, ensuring compliance with all regulations and guidelines.
Ā Review and work claims/denials to maximize reimbursements and reduce outstanding balances.
Ā Generate, analyze, and distribute financial and operational reports to support decision-making.
Ā Provide training and support to staff on billing, coding, and claims processing to ensure team proficiency.
Ā Communicate effectively with insurance companies, patients, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
Ā Stay up-to-date on changes in billing and coding practices, particularly within Optometry and Ophthalmology.
Qualifications:
Ā Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification is required.
Ā Minimum of 1 year of billing and coding experience in Optometry and Ophthalmology.
Ā Proficiency in working claims, handling denials, and managing insurance processes.
Ā Strong knowledge of relevant billing and coding software and systems.
Ā Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
Ā Strong communication skills and ability to train and collaborate with team members.
Ā Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, professional workspace for remote work.
Compensation and Benefits:
Ā Competitive salary range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on experience.
