Category Management Analyst

The Category Management Revenue Analyst is responsible for analyzing data to drive supplier negotiations, pricing strategies, and informed decision-making across the organization.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze category purchase, revenue, and volume data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across UniPro Members and suppliersDevelop, maintain, and enhance category purchase and revenue trend modelsProduce and distribute recurring reports, including monthly reporting for UniPro Exclusive Brands, Centralized Billing Sales, UPA, and Tier SuppliersPublish monthly Tier reporting to Members for all applicable Tier SuppliersConsolidate and integrate multiple data sources into structured dashboards, spreadsheets, and BI reporting outputsEnsure data integrity by validating accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all reporting platformsAnalyze key market intelligence indicators and industry benchmarks (e.g., NPD data) to evaluate market conditions and competitive positioningDevelop pricing models and forward-looking pricing scenarios to support Category Management strategies and Member decision-makingProvide weekly market analyses and forecasting to support Category 'market calls' and guide purchasing behavior within UniPro programsTranslate external market trends into strategic recommendations for Category stakeholders and MembersDevelop market forecasts to support annual budgeting, financial planning, and strategic initiativesIdentify key performance indicators (KPIs) and evaluate targeted data sources to measure program effectivenessProvide analytical support for tactical initiatives aligned with company goals and revenue objectivesGenerate scenario analyses to assess financial impact of pricing changes, Supplier programs, and volume commitmentsPartner with Category Management team members to run analytical reports and support Supplier negotiations with data-driven insightsCollaborate with Members and Suppliers to ensure timely and accurate reporting required to meet volume commitmentsSupport best-in-class service delivery through responsive, data-backed analysis and communicationUtilize BI tools and software platforms to extract, mine, and analyze large datasetsManage and develop additional reporting capabilities through business intelligence toolsMerge and manipulate complex datasets to produce consolidated reporting outputsContinuously improve reporting automation, efficiency, and analytical methodologiesParticipate in supplier meetings, internal department meetings, and cross-functional project initiatives as requiredDemonstrate innovative leadership by transforming complex analytical findings into clear business insights that support executive decision-makingContribute to the ongoing development of technical and analytical capabilities within the Category Management teamAssist, coordinate and participate in special projects for the Category Management Department as assignedMay travel, on a limited basis, to attend and participate in UniPro Conferences or industry functionsSkillsBachelor's or Associate's degree with a focus in Analytics or Accounting and a strong ambition to learn the dynamics of Business Intelligence softwareKnowledge of business functions as well as intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and OutlookPrior experience with reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, and VBA) is a plusMust display an aptitude for detail with well-developed inter-personal skills, strong organizational and follow-through skillsMust demonstrate proven written and verbal presentation skillsTime management and problem solving are key for this positionExcellent interpersonal & communication skills, influence, strong team building cross-functional partnership and organizational skillsProven analytical and experience in working with large data setsAbility to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks in fast-paced team structureAbility to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly languageSelf-motivated with keen attention to detailTeam-oriented, and skilled in working within a collaborative environmentCompany OverviewUniPro Foodservice is the largest food distribution cooperative in the world.
