We have an excellent opportunity available for a Capital and Treasury Manager to join our proactive and supportive finance team at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full time, permanent basis.

As the Capital and Treasury Manager, you will be responsible for the capital and treasury management functions of the Councils finance management. This pivotal role will include operating in a complex, challenging financial environment working with large financial values.

You will support and work closely with the Head of Corporate Finance, focusing on strategic objectives and strong financial management, collaborating with senior leadership to deliver the Council’s outcomes for its residents, customers, and key stakeholders.

This is an exciting and interesting role, working across all aspects of Council services involving multimillion pound projects. We offer hybrid working options including a mixture of working from home and the office.

Key responsibilities:
• Management of Capital and Treasury team (5 FTE)
• Oversight of Councils capital monitoring, budget setting and reporting for spend and funding
• Oversight of Councils treasury management function, including borrowing and investments
• Finance lead on complex capital projects
• Lead on areas of the statutory accounts relating to capital and treasury management

Candidate requirements:
• Strong understanding and experience of financial accounting
• Strong understanding and experience of financial budget monitoring
• Strong IT skills including Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to interrogate & analyse data & information at different levels
