Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions to students in a variety of subjects, including Science, Social Studies, Math, and Reading, with a focus on STAAR exam preparation. Develop customized lesson plans tailored to each student's learning needs and goals. Assess student progress and communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders as needed. Utilize your interpersonal skills to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds and adapt your teaching approach to meet their individual needs. Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress. Collaborate with the SiSTEM team to achieve organizational goals and participate in ongoing professional development. Essential Qualifications: Must be eligible to work in the United States of America with a valid Social Security Number (SiSTEM Tutoring Agency does not sponsor visas at this time). Commitment to tutoring for the duration of the assignment, with the possibility of extension. Reliable transportation and the ability to attend in-person tutoring sessions in a timely and consistent manner. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate to students from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency in using computers and digital tools (email, texting, Slack, Google Sheets/Excel). A selfless commitment to making a positive impact on students' lives. Preferred Qualifications: A college student with at least 60 credit hours or a college graduate (Bachelor's, Master's, Doctoral degree holder). A certified teacher with SBEC or other state teacher licensure certification, or a retired teacher with similar certification. Skilled in any grade level of Math, Science, Social Studies, or Reading. A minimum of 1-2 years of mentoring, tutoring, or teaching experience in a classroom or school environment. Expertise in Elementary, Middle, and/or High school subjects. Experience working with students who are learning to speak English. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
