About the position
The Business Operations Project Manager II at TxDOT is responsible for performing project management work across multiple projects, ensuring they are monitored and progressed at various levels of completion. This role involves coordinating with stakeholders, managing budgets and schedules, and utilizing project management methodologies to achieve project goals while maintaining a focus on work-life balance and employee wellness.
Responsibilities
Ā Coordinates project activities with other state agencies, governmental jurisdictions, or private sector partners and contractors.

Ā Develops and manages project budgets, schedules, work plans, resource requirements, and cost estimates.
,
Ā Initiates projects, obtains authorization and commitment, and demonstrates business need and project feasibility.
,
Ā Manages, oversees, and evaluates projects using accepted project management methodologies.
,
Ā Testifies before legislative and interested groups on project status and other issues of public interest as required.
,
Ā Reviews and recommends proposals and bids to management.
,
Ā Utilizes established criteria to evaluate programs, proposals, and other pertinent information related to project assignments.
,
Ā Communicates and explains project methodology and processes to interested groups and team members.
,
Ā Compiles and distributes project information, status reports, and project budget expenditures.
,
Ā Identifies potential project impediments, risks, and issues; and designs strategies to mitigate or avoid them.
,
Ā May develop and evaluate scorecards, dashboards, metrics, and goals.
,
Ā May serve as a lead worker and perform related tasks.
,
Ā Monitors and manages project cost and quality to ensure project completion within budget and acceptable deliverables.
Requirements
Ā Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration (or equivalent experience).

Ā 5 years of project management, process engineering, and/or business process improvement methodologies experience.
,
Ā Valid driver's license.

Ā Experience with local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to project administration.

Ā Knowledge of project management theories and practices applicable to complex projects.
