Business Analyst / Remote,6+ Months Contract
Job Description:
This Business Analyst(BA) position will be in the IT department of a Utility company operating in North America. The BA will be responsible for:
• Facilitating requirements gathering meetings with Business and IT participants
• Gathering and documenting process flows and business requirements
• Identifying gaps in current processes and capabilities that new solutions could address
• Communicating regularly with Business and IT participants on information needed to provide solutions.
• Communicating effectively with business users to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions
• Conducting reviews to ensure business requirements are met
• Assisting in developing use cases or test scripts as needed working with Business and IT experts
• Gathering requirements for new enhancements and custom reports; work with IT to develop functional specifications and work closely with the technical support or system vendor to get the requests and enhancements tested and implemented
• Reporting progress of work regularly
Must Skill:
• Strong work experience with requirements gathering, business processes, documentation of processes and requirements.
• Ability to evaluate and understand business processes and strategies and how those relate to new or existing technologies.
• Experience with Energy Trading and Risk Management business
• Understanding of concepts of Front, Middle and Back office in the Energy Trading business
• Basic understanding of VaR, MtM, Hedging, Positions or other trading or risk management concepts in trading
Plus Skills/Experience
• Experience on any ETRM implementation in an Energy Trading environment
• Experience with Trading or related functions in Logistics, Credit, Contracts, Counterparties, Plant operations or accounting, pricing, Energy exchanges, Gas or Power Trading or operations.
• Endur or cQuant or Risk Analytics experience
• Experience with ETRM systems integration to/from Legacy systems
