Organizational Overview AFWERX is the innovation arm of the Department of the Air Force (DAF) and is a Technical Directorate (TD) of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). AFWERX seeks to accelerate agile and affordable capability transitions by teaming innovative technology developers with Airman and Guardian talent. AFWERX teams internationally across academia, industry and government to develop technology, expand talent, and transition dual-use capabilities. This mission is conducted across four operational AFWERX divisions: Ventures (RGV), Spark (RGS), Prime (RGP) and SpaceWERX (RGX). The associated divisions serve to expand the defense industrial base for advanced technologies, empower Airmen and Guardian talent, and drive faster technology transition to operational capability. Overview The Business Analyst will support AFWERX Program Management Office (PMO) in carrying out its mission to increase participation to the maximum practicable extent in DAF acquisitions and the transfer/transition of these technologies to the warfighter and the commercial sector Minimum Qualifications • Proven experience in data analysis, database management, and data visualization • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, and SQL • Experience with machine learning and statistical modeling techniques • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights for non-technical audiences • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams • Knowledge of the defense industry and the AFWERX program is a plus.
